Empowering Prayer for the Muslim World
The idea for 30 Days of Prayer got its start when a group of Christian leaders met in the Middle East in 1993 and were praying for the Islamic world. As they prayer, God emphasized to them His love and concern for Muslims, and the need for prayer. The idea to encourage Christians to view Muslims peoples with a God-perspective and pray for them was born. That was over 30 years ago. And today we continue to pray!
We are excited to share how dramatically God has connected us to the 30 Days of Prayer for the Muslim World. A friend of Pastor Munawar reached out to us via email, leading us to translate this prayer guide. For the past five years, we have also been equipping our church to engage in prayer for this important initiative.
Why Ramadan?
30 Days of Prayer is intended to coincide with the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, when Muslims are fasting and praying themselves, as it is a good time for Christians to remember to pray. When Christians hear in the media that Ramadan is coming, it reminds them to keep Muslims in their hearts and prayers.
